Speakers Invited to QCSS-4
We have received an unexpected large number of paper submissions to QCSS-4 this year. We thank all authors who have submitted their work to us. To ensure the academic quality of QCSS-4, we have read and reviewed all works carefully. All works were first read by the coordinator responsible for academic quality and they decided if the paper would be sent out for double-blind review. Reviewers then read received papers and sent recommendation and their comments on the paper back to the coordinator. Papers receiving higher evaluations from reviewers will be invited.
Now we have completed reviewing all works submitted to us. We are pleased to announce the following speaker list for QCSS-4 in 2020 (listed by alphabetic order):

We are pleased to announce that the Fourth Quantitative China Studies Seminar (QCSS-4) will be held on February 28 and 29, 2020, at 19 West 4th Street (NYU Washington Square Campus).
In the previous three QCSS workshops, we have invited faculty members and Ph.D. candidates from Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, MIT, Northwestern University, NYU, Penn State, Peking University, Princeton, UCSD, UIUC, UT-Austin, UVA, and Yale to present their works. This year, we are pleased to announce that Professors Bruce Bueno de Mesquita (NYU), David Lake (UCSD), Melanie Manion (Duke), and Adam Przeworski (NYU) will be our keynote panelists to discuss the current research program of Chinese politics, comparative politics, and international relations. In QCSS-4, we will organize a special session for graduate students or post-doctoral fellows to present their in-progress research projects related to Chinese politics. Each paper will receive a detailed discussion from a faculty member of the Department of Politics at NYU. We only accept papers written or co-authored by graduate students or post-doctoral fellows.
We are now accepting paper submissions for the seminar. To submit your work to us, please send your paper and CV to Athena Li ([email protected]) by 12 a.m. (EST) October 27, 2019. We aim to notify authors of selected papers by mid December, 2019. We will also attach the seminar coordinator’s suggestions for revision and two referee reports. We will invite the selected authors to revise and resubmit a new version to us by early February, 2020. A faculty member will read the new version and comment on the paper during the conference. The conference does not charge any registration fee. We will provide hotel rooms to presenters and offer travel funding (no more than $250) to student presenters based on their needs.*
